Biblical Promises
God is faithful forever. Has he said a thing and not fulfil it? (Numbers 23:19 paraphrased). The Bible is a holy book with the accounts of what happened on inception; how God dealt with His people. Time after time, God would reveal His mind to the people and instruct them of what path to follow, laying it bared what blessings follow obedience and the consequences that follow disobedience. God reassured His people of his blessings and the conditions, which if they heed to and live by, they will enjoy His promise forever, from generation to generation (Genesis 17:7 paraphrased).
Reflection
The promises came with conditions which must be fulfilled in order to enjoy them. Hence, the necessity for us to reflect on how we live daily and make some adjustments in line with the promises. What conditions come with the promises? For example, 2 Chronicles 7:14 says 'If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.' To claim this promise for forgiveness and healing, I will need humility, prayer and turning away from anything evil.
Reflection on how each day has gone will help to identify what situations were rightly dealt with and ones which could have been handled better, and how it made us feel. We can check on our behaviour. Can this get in the way of enjoying the promise?
Using the example above, you can check your prayer life. Am I humble enough before God? Did I spend time to pray?
Action plan
It's a good idea to have an action plan after reflection, asking yourself what you can do better in the future. For example, do you need to wake up 30mins earlier so as to have more time to pray? What other things may I need to consider.
And as you do this, you will see yourself becoming more productive, focus and calm as you LIVE the Promise.
